Celtic Tabletop & DagdaCon Social Media Policy

1. Background – Who we are and what we do

This policy outlines the social media channels used by Celtic Tabletop, the type of content you can expect on each, and how we interact with the public on these platforms. The public relations manager oversees Celtic Tabletop's social media accounts and must adhere to a high level of professionalism and decorum, always respecting the public and members.

2. Statement of Policy

This policy applies to all members of the Celtic Tabletop committee, volunteers, moderators, and any individuals managing our social media platforms.
All individuals are required to adhere to this policy as well as our Code of Conduct.

3. Scope

This policy applies to all social media channels managed by Celtic Tabletop, including but not limited to:

  • Facebook

  • Instagram

  • Discord

  • Or any future platforms

It also applies to any messaging apps used by Celtic Tabletop to communicate with the public on a case-by-case basis.

4. Security and Access

  • Only authorised individuals will have access to official Celtic Tabletop social media accounts.

  • Access will be managed by the committee, and removed promptly if a volunteer or committee member steps down.

  • Login credentials must be stored securely/

  • All access will be logged and monitored.

5. Social Media Channels and Accounts

Facebook & Instagram

Used for announcements, updates, promotional posts, and sharing media from events. The committee may also respond to community questions and messages.

Community Forums (Discord)

Our Discord server serves as a central hub for the DagdaCon community. It is a space for discussion, announcements, and direct interaction with the committee.
All participants must comply with this policy and our Code of Conduct. Moderators may issue warnings, timeouts, or bans in line with enforcement procedures.

Other Platforms

Other platforms may be used in the future of the convention.

6. Content & Branding

  • All posts represent Celtic Tabletop, not the personal opinions of the individual posting.

  • Official announcements, partnerships, or press-related content must be approved by the committee.

  • Our brand tone is friendly, inclusive, and professional. Humour is welcome but must never undermine respect or inclusivity.

7. Acceptable Usage Policy

We encourage positive and constructive engagement on all our social media channels.
However, Celtic Tabletop reserves the right to remove any content or block users who are deemed as negatively impacting this community's members.

Repeated or serious violations may result in permanent bans and exclusion from Celtic Tabletop events. Legal action may be pursued in serious cases.

8. Moderation & Escalation

  • Moderators and committee members may remove content or restrict user access when necessary.

  • Escalation procedures:

    • Minor breaches → warning or post removal.

    • Repeated/more serious breaches → suspension or ban.

    • Extreme cases (e.g., threats, hate speech) → immediate permanent ban and possible legal reporting.

  • Users may appeal moderation actions by contacting the committee.

9. Photo, Video & Media Consent

  • Media from Celtic Tabletop events may be shared on social channel.

  • We will strive to publish identifiable photos or videos of individuals who have provided consent.

  • Anyone may request removal of media featuring them by contacting the committee.

10. Crisis Communications

  • In the event of reputational harm, viral misinformation, or other crises, only authorised committee members may issue official statements.

  • A designated spokesperson will handle all media and press enquiries.

  • Internal escalation procedures will be followed to manage response quickly and consistently.

11. Data Protection & Privacy

  • Celtic Tabletop complies with GDPR and relevant data protection laws.

  • Personal information collected through social channels (e.g., messages, event registrations) will only be used for its intended purpose and never shared without consent.

  • Users may request deletion of their data in line with our Data Protection Policy.

12. What if my comment or post is removed?

If your comment or post is removed and you wish to understand why, please contact us via the website’s Contact Us page or at info@dagdacon.ie. We will make every effort to explain our decision.
