Who are we?

Our Story

DagdaCon began as an idea Daire had for years: to bring communities from every genre, game, and story together in a welcoming and creative space.

In early 2025, that idea became a plan. Daire gathered friends, new and old, and committed to making DagdaCon a convention that puts people and community first.

The support from the community from the start has been brilliant. Different groups and individuals reaching out, offering assistance and advice. Many of those communities will now be showcased in new events at the convention.

Join us in April 2026, for the first ever DagdaCon.

Our Theme

DagdaCon takes its name from the Dagda, a central figure in Irish myth often called “the good” or “great god.” He is associated with abundance, hospitality and music: a cauldron that never emptied, a harp that could call the seasons, and a staff that balanced power with care. We borrow that spirit of generosity and craft as a metaphor for a festival where ideas, games and people are shared freely.

The theme also draws on the people of the sídhe, the otherworldly folk who dwell at the thresholds of mounds and hills. In myth those mounds are portals between worlds; for DagdaCon, they’re a symbol of crossing into new games, meeting different communities, and discovering unexpected stories.

DAGDACON DIRECTOR

Growing up in a nerd-filled household, I've spent years diving into board games, RPGs, card games, and everything in between. While I enjoy it all, my core love lies with wargames, and I've run a good few successful community events for them over the years. It only feels natural to extend that enthusiasm to all the communities of our nerdy otherworlds with DagdaCon!

I’m always looking for opportunities to use what I know and learn what I don’t, so after working in various roles in cons in the U.S., I’m jumping into the otherworlds with DagdaCon! My favorite games are word games, l love misusing the English language.

Gaming has always been the core of my life, I went to my first convention at 12 years old and was hooked! I am bringing my background of marketing and events to the table and am excited to get into all the nerdy socials. Fav type of game is take over the world map games.

A longtime gamer, I'm thrilled to join the organizing committee. I have 15 years professional experience in administration and operations to ensure the convention runs smoothly and efficiently.  I’ll focus on the logistics that keep the "fun" flowing. When I’m not building spreadsheets, I enjoy  strategy and grand adventure games.

I grew up playing the ‘traditional’ board and card games. Lots of summers playing solitaire (what else is there to do when it is raining). It was college when I was introduced to modern tabletop games and I haven’t looked back. I love learning and playing new games.

Meet the our Support Team

People we cannot do without, who bring essential skills to DagdaCon.

My love of games cannot be understated. For decades I've been writing and running role-play games for conventions all over Ireland. At home the shelves that aren't heaving with rule books are filled with board games or Warhammer 40k armies. I'll play anything, but creating fun experiences through games is what I'm all about. I'm excited to welcome you all to Dagdacon!
