Board Games & More

No tabletop convention is complete without board games. But for us, we wanted more. This is why we have partnered with a variety of groups to bring you Board games & More. These events range from the playing the humble board game to short demonstrations and introductions.

Below are events that will run over the weekend.

Kilkenny Nerd Club City of Tables

Dates: 25th - 26th April - All Day

Kilkenny Nerd Club are beyond proud to be DagdaCon's inaugural gaming club partner, and all weekend we'll be hosting our own miniature town-sized City of Tables in the main hall, with games and activities for all manner of nerd.

New in town? Come say hi at The Library Table, and check out a game from the collection to bring to the free play tables. Our friendly librarians are on hand to help you choose the right game and get you started.

Take in a show at The Theatre Table, where we'll be running story & spectacle board games that are easy to pick up and hard to put down. Jump in on games like Talisman, Burgle Bros, & Escape the Dark Castle, and tell a story for the ages.

Need some better gear? Stop by The Forge Table for miniature speed painting and kitbashing throughout both days. Pick up some tips and tricks, and take home your new friend when you're done. You'll be needing them.

Now that you're ready for the fight, you're needed at The Barracks Table, where we'll be demoing a range of skirmish miniature games like 0200 Hours, Devilry Afoot and Frostgrave, all played over beautifully painted hand-made terrain of the kind that makes you say "I really need to make some terrain".

Whatever your flavour and however long you're stopping by, we look forward to sharing an excellent weekend with you!

Play and Win

Dates: 25th - 26th April - All Day

The best way to find a new favorite game is to get it to the table. At DagdaCon, our Play and Win event lets you do exactly that, with the added bonus that you might actually get to keep the game when the weekend is over!

It is a great way to explore the collection and meet some fellow gamers!

How it Works

We have kept the process straightforward so you can focus on the gaming.

  • Browse the special Play & Win Library: Stop by the Play and Win section and check out a game that looks interesting.

  • Play a Full Round: Grab a table and play through the game. It does not matter who wins the session; everyone who plays gets an entry.

  • Return and Enter: When you bring the game back to the desk, enter the draw to win that specific game.

  • Watch for Winners: We will draw names on the afternoon of Sunday 26th. If you win, you just need to stop by the desk before the con ends to pick up your prize.

You get one entry for every unique game you play. The more titles you try out, the more draws you are in.

Board Game Tournaments

Pull up a chair and discover the simple magic of board games. At first it’s just a table, a few pieces, maybe some dice, but before long the room fills with laughter, dramatic victories, and playful groans when someone pulls off an unexpected move.

Our board game tournaments are designed for everyone, there’s no pressure to know the rules or be a master strategist. We will be running some fun events where you will laugh, have fun and have the chance to win some prizes. You might even make some new friends along the way.
